they're ok, gotta remember that they are made for clubs and bars mainly, thats why there in the standerd 19" rack mountable design.

if you want to scratch cds, then dont get them because the scratch function is not great, other than that, the bpm counter on them is fine (works for hardcore) although i dont use bpm counters ive had customers who have needed them, and we've tested it out, detects them very well, theres a nice sync button which you click and a puts both tracks to the same bpm, then its left up to you to drop the tracks. it has the "hot cue" points like the cdj1000's have, well, to be honest it has all the functions of the cdj1000 plus a "tap" button, which allows you to input the bpm - which i dont think the 1000's have.

the big differnce between the 5000 and the 3000 is the fact that the 3000 has the "auto mix" or "relay play" where it will mix itself from cd to cd..

question is - do you reallllly need that? are you paying extra money for somthing you will never need?

perhaps you would be better off looking at a 3000 and saving a bit of cash

whichever you choose i would say they're the best dual cd decks out there - you can always turst pioneers high end stuffs :)

american audio's also have a version of it

looks great, and actually has effects (unlike the pioneers), works pretty much the same - i wasnt too fond of the large discs, they felt wierd - but if you want effects this might be the one to consider also.

again, if you want to scratch, your looking at the wrong cd decks, perhaps have a flick through the cd deck topic :)

hope that was some sort of help

naw its on ebay, looks like it will end at 700-800
they still sell in australia for 1500dollars (insane)
CDJ100 normally sell for 500, jsut thought this looks better for myself, as I need a new mixer anyway, the american pro dj mixer pumps one channel out lowder then the other, kinda annoying
