Has anyone else noticed the massive lack of creativity and imagination in today's hardcore? The major players like One Seventy, Electric Fox, Bionic Bear seem to be just rehashing the same old Hardstyle strings almost every release. Hardcore 24/7 & Brutal Kuts are just are a little better but there are still a lot of rehashes of old tracks, sounds and not a lot of new ideas.

There are more electronic genres than ever to get influences from. Surely people can think a little outside the box like in the 90s and early 2000s.

What ever happened to Rap, Hip Hop and scratch samples in Hardcore? Which got a lot of Americans into the sound. Or Breakbeats & Drum n Bass sections? Or House & EDM music vocals and riffs. I love Hardstyle, but for farks sake... there are more genres in the scene you can take influence from than just Hardstyle & Trance. And don't be a bitch and be afraid to use samples.

I think this a big reason the scene has died off, lack of creative intelligence with productions.

I've had the same complaint for a while. Everything sounds like hardstyle.

The problem always has and always will stem from the top guys! If any of the littler guys try diffrent or new stuff it just gets brushed off. Because they have a bigger following it really depends on them to make the next step and for everyone to evolve around them. I do like the hardstyle influence and use it myself sometimes but it is time for a new direction now...but to what? nobody knows or nobody wants to take the next step! Hence why everyones stuck in a loop and majority of the top guys have jumped shit and are playing 155/160 Edm shite at HTID events.

20 years ago this was true but now with social media being around , its so much easier to get noticed.

Just need to put the work in and stand out.

???? Bollocks. Many people did their own thing 20 years ago and the scene had a much broader range of sounds and styles. It was still the big boys at the top but with much more of a variety to the scene (Kevin energy, Kurt, squad-e, technikore, etc etc), all great artists but all with a different sound.

When people did their own thing back then they were often picked up on by the bigger artists such as with Kurt, Paul ep, and so on.

With social media now it's even harder to get noticed as such because, well, everyone can make and promote music via social media so there's too much choice if anything. Paying for likes and most 'influencers' are only where they are due to having an idea they've paid heavily to promote and gain followers.

More specifically with hardcore though, the following just isn't there to start with anymore and with more choice than ever for music, and different genres at the click of a button, people are already spoilt for choice.
