unusual for me to like anything new, especially with styles being involved but thought this was a fun track - would deffo buy if it appeared on vinyl at some point

Hah it's f***ing terrible to be fair.
Those vocals are shyte and they've taken some pretty generic stab sounds to create some sort of inspired by, but not quite mid 90's style.
The stabs are something which would in the 90's form a sub or second breakdown but not be the basis for the entire track. Seems like it's some silly middle of the rave filler to have a bounce around to than being a proper start middle and end track. If it came out between the likes of save me, sound without a name, dropzone, taking me higher, etc, we'd all be saying how sh*t it is.
Each to their own though.

I'm not a fan.
I also think that's the ugliest version of the HTID angel I've ever seen.

I dont know how many sets there were but ive listend to hixxys, stonebanks, half of s3rl, gammers and darren styles and they are all very unappealing. Only track i really liked from the DS mix was 'set me free' but i think thats only because it uses a simlair piano line to robert miles's children.

Shite!
Darren styles can do so much better, if he actually put in the comittment he could probably have his own sound and shit on everyone in the scene, but he chose this path.
Im sometimes struggle to believe this is the same guy who made Dropzone, Sound without a name etc

It's nuts isn't it. I remember the all change thing at the time. Bangers being put out with decent builds into the vocal/melody drop and then that all changed. Tracks started with just a kick and nothing else. Then into the drop, no proper build. Going for more simplistic into utter shyte tracks.

Guys, are we aware this is a complete sample lift from Supertramp "Dreamer" from 1974?!
https://youtu.be/9FASalIUNgM There's a comment "such a old school happy melody". Good lord. It's 51 years old. Styles hasn't written shit here. It's not exactly obscure. I'd far listen to Supertramp than whatever Styles played in that entire video. I've never rated the guy, or Hixxy. Both copy whatever dance styles are trending. They were known for that back in the 1990s. Besides, I'm certain the Dutch or Scots already sampled "Dreamer" in the 1990s with a bouncy track. So it's doubly unoriginal.

Artists from all genres of music do this.
Thats a dangerously naive observation to have.

He's nabbed the vocal from breakfast in America for 'girlfriend' by supertramp as well which he did the cover vocals himself. That was decent. Making music isn't all about the vocal making the track, it's the rest of it too. So indeed styles has written, composed, produced shit on this occasion.
