Anyone else feel like there is a sense of darkness in this country unlike anything that we have ever experienced in our life times?

What we are now experiencing is not just the incompetence of the Labour Party but also an authoritarian state where two tier policing seems to be a reality and freedom of speech and information is now being supressed.

In Bournemouth there was a staged demo last night from the 'free Palestine' lot who shouted 'Nazi scum!' and 'Racist' towards the so called opposite side who in fact where mostly local people who where mostly just spectators. Aside from some shouting back and a bit of cheeky banter there was very little hostility from the locals. By contrast the other side seemed to have a lot of illegal migrants with them who where also abusive and there where dozens of videos from phones of their behaviour including some trying to cross between to road to clash with the locals.

It is now said (although I am not sure if true) that the government has claimed that simply filming a protest could be an offense. How? Why?

I think quite simply it works like this. The local media, the Bournemouth Daily Echo is very much the same as most of the other media outlets in this country. It edits what it wants. They have branded the local people 'far right' of course and sided with the Palestine side while ignoring their attitude. By not being able to share these videos of what really went on means that the truth is be supressed. That is what the Labour Party want. The media won't share what they don't want you to see and now even you are not allowed to share it either.

The event went without anyone getting hurt or arrests being made but the one sided reporting (the policing was actually a bit more balanced here than maybe in other places) has made me nervous. We are entering what feels like a dictatorship and the attacks on Twitter or X as it is now known is also unnerving. The only countries which ban certain websites are treated with haste across the world. It has never been done by a Western democracy and would be especially unpreceded in this country. Never has our right to speech been under threat before.

We are entering very dark times and you know what scares me the most? We have so far only suffered one month of it.

Its unbelievable reading the stuff from UK. With such a clear example of what not to do, its crazy how every country in the west is heading for that same brick wall.

unfortunately this destruction of the country has been carefully crafted for decades

it is more evident and clearly becoming a matter of urgency amongst many

don't worry, you're not alone on this matter.
