Where's all my oldskool necromancers @? How many of you are resurrecting oldskool vibes in your music today?
I'm in my mid-20s so I definitely missed the 'golden age' of underground raves. My mom was a raver however and raised me on the classics. I've since been producing tunes that smash together my favorite aspects of the 'oldskool sound'. The fat kicks, scatterbrained breaks, happy stab melodies, pianos, and euphoric vocals. Been obsessed as far back as I can remember lol.
I find people in my age group don't have a clue about this type of music and have never found a place where I can discuss with likeminded people.
So, who's out there following similar paths in their producing? What DAWs do you use? What is your method for sampling? What are some of your favorite (sometimes hard to find) oldskool samplepack tapes? Is there any areas online or IRL where this revival is thriving?
Let's discuss being a producer trying to breathe life back into this wonderful sound :-)

Hell yeee~ that's a pretty good plugin. I used to use FL but have recently switched over to renoise , i used to make chiptune via LSDJ so the tracker style is like second nature to me. lately i've been trying to scout out any mp3 rips from those old 90's rave samplepack cassettes - i have trouble finding them.
anyhow, this is some of my music : (i was about to release an album but lost almost all the data- here is one of the survivors tho)

Nice, you have some interesting tracks, gave you a follow on SC. I mostly make older style Hard Trance, Hardstyle and Acid Techno these days but I did manage to dig out this old video of an Oldskool Hardcore track I did. Never quite finished it though, just tried to load the project but it can't find loads of the samples used.
