Hey everybody,

If you're a fan of 92-94 era breakbeat hardcore and early jungle, this release might be for you!

"It's The Personality That Counts", an EP from Ugly Duckling in this style, has just dropped on CD on our label, Erupt Records. Note that whilst a digital release is not currently available, with each purchase of the CD you will also get free MP3s of the tracks sent to your email anyway.

To listen or purchase, just follow the link here! https://eruptrecordsuk.bandcamp.com/album/its-the-personality-that-counts

?1 from every CD sold is being donated to NHS Charities Together, to help out our friends at the NHS during these mad times.

Cheers guys, enjoy :)

I am listening to "Should've Thought About It" right now and I gotta say. This doesn't really sound alot like breakbeat hardcore stuff. It might be just me but it sounds too modern to sound like the old skool 92-94 breakbeat stuff. Theres little aspects of breakbeat hardcore like the LL Cool J sample but it all sounds a little too modern.

The songs themselfs are great tho, "Lock Down" is my favorite. It has the closest breakbeat hardcore feel out of the 3 songs. The biggest tip for breakbeat hardcore is to make things very simple. Most producers in the 1992-1994 era only had 1 samplers and very basic effects.

If you're gonna keep making breakbeat hardcore i recommend this plugin, It's very useful when making those iconic stabs.
