Should have seen Southend Beach day before yesterday. Was packed and people were shoulder to shoulder, this thing will go on forever at this rate. If the R rate starts to climb, enforced lockdown will be back.
That would be Britain had Corbyn got in. We would be forced to clap - or else
I've seen a few shaming non-clappers in their street online, which is out of order. It seems this weekly thing has brought out the authoritarian side of some folk.
I think it's become a bit cult like and sanctimonious of people who are just trying to outdo their neighbours. The first week was a nice gesture, but it's all a bit cringe now IMO.

It is just virtue signalling now. The same goes with rainbows for the NHS. It is a nice thought for kids to do it but it is not really going to save a life.

There is no harm in either of it, and I do applaud for those nurses , doctors, orderly's, porters etc etc and all the keyworkers that kept this country ticking over while we were in strict lockdown. But mainly the frontliners who actually wore PPE for 12 hours and helped people drowning in their own lung fluids from the virus.
It will come to an end at some point, but not until they give us the all clear.
